What the assistant can do
Your WhatsApp context, without copy and paste.
Every capability maps to a scoped tool. Approve only what the assistant needs; the rest stays closed.
Understand the workspace
Read the active plan, limits, connected WABAs and phone numbers before an assistant acts.
organization:read · whatsapp:read
Find contact context
Search and page contacts, then pull a single record with tags, consent and custom attributes.
contacts:read
Read conversations
List inbox conversations and recent messages so an assistant can summarise or draft a reply.
conversations:read · messages:read
Work with templates
Look up approved and pending templates with language, category and component details.
templates:read
Reply and send
Send a text reply inside the 24-hour window or deliver an approved template when the window is closed.
messages:write · templates:read
Review usage
Inspect campaigns, billing usage and delivery counters without leaving the assistant.
campaigns:read · billing:read
How it connects
Three steps. No glue code.
The connector discovers the authorization server automatically. There is no OpenAPI file, shared secret or webhook to configure.
Add the MCP endpoint
In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. In ChatGPT, create a custom connector from Settings → Connectors. Paste the endpoint below.
Approve access
Sign in to ClickMaker and approve only the scopes the assistant needs. OAuth 2.1 with PKCE binds the token to your workspace.
Ask in plain language
Ask for unread conversations, a reply draft, template details or usage. Every call stays inside your organization.
MCP endpoint
https://connectapi.clickmaker.in/mcpUse the API host, not the website host. Full setup, OAuth metadata and tool list.
Security
Scoped access, not a blank cheque.
MCP is held to the same tenant isolation and permission model as the REST API.
OAuth 2.1 + PKCE
Dynamic client registration and short-lived access tokens. No client secret is pasted into the assistant.
Scoped by design
A connector only sees the scopes you approve. Read tools cannot send, and write tools require explicit consent.
Tenant isolation
Every tool call resolves the organization server-side. One connector cannot reach another workspace.
Revocable and metered
Revoke a connector at any time. MCP calls count toward the monthly API request quota and are visible in usage.
MCP tools resolve ownership from the OAuth token or API key server-side. The assistant never receives your Meta access token.
Plans
MCP starts on Growth.
Growth, Business and Enterprise include MCP connector access. Starter includes the REST API and API keys, but not MCP.
MCP FAQ
The questions teams ask first.
More setup detail lives in the developer guide. This page covers the product and plan questions.
What is MCP?
The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI assistants call tools on an external service. ClickMaker Connect exposes a Streamable HTTP MCP server so Claude, ChatGPT and other MCP hosts can work with your WhatsApp workspace.
Which plans include MCP?
MCP connectors are included on Growth, Business and Enterprise. Starter includes API access but not MCP connector access. API request quotas still apply.
Which AI clients work?
Claude custom connectors and ChatGPT connectors are supported today. Any MCP host that supports Streamable HTTP and OAuth 2.1 or a custom Authorization header can connect.
Can an assistant send messages?
Only if you approve messages:write. Text replies respect the 24-hour customer service window. Outside that window, an approved template is required. Sending is never enabled by a read-only scope.
How do I revoke access?
Remove the connector in Claude or ChatGPT, or revoke the issued token in ClickMaker. Revocation takes effect immediately and future tool calls are rejected.
How is this different from the REST API?
The MCP server wraps the same organization-scoped API in tools an AI assistant can discover. Use the REST API for your own product integrations and MCP for conversational assistants.
